Episode 3: Mullet Earth

What does your hair say about you? For those with a mullet, it really says a lot. Let your hair down as Megsy finds out about the roots of this hairdo and what it means to those who have one.

Can mullets SAVE THE WORLD?! Well in this episode, Megsy is on a mission to see if they can.

The ‘business in the front, party in the back’ stems back centuries. Although it wasn’t dubbed as the mullet hairstyle in ancient Greece and Rome, the haircut was actually a thing. As said in Illiad, the poem by Homer describes one of the Greek tribes having hair that is cropped in the front and long in the back; sound familiar?

Megsy is joined by hair historian, Rachel who tells about the long background of this iconic hairstyle.

Along the way, Catholic school teacher, Kate styled her hair into a bright pink mullet during the COVID-19 lockdown. Assistant nurse Dan is on the back-end of some critics with his ‘rougher cut’ mullet and trendy barber Addicus tells us his experience shaping the mullet earth with the shaver in hand.

The mullet has been embraced by many Aussies, and no more than Mulletfest founder Laura. A national event that celebrates best mullet in the country. Hear all about Mulletfest, what it’s all about and how it shapes different people all around the country.

And producer Em has a big surprise for Megsy as we get on board for mullet earth!
